Statement by Members : [17] Collection home page

Any Member may make a statement to Parliament on any matter relating to his responsibilities as a Member of Parliament or on any question of Government policy. Any such statement shall be limited to fifteen (15) minutes for each Member. Any Member who whishes to make a statement in accordance with paragraph (1) shall inform the Speaker there-of before the opening of the sitting during which the statement is to be made. The Speaker shall decide the order in which such statement shall be listed on the Agenda. If no motion for a general debate is presented or accepted in accordance with Standing Order 37, the period of time allotted for a general debate shall be used for statements by Members.
